- Commodore saw itself primarily as a hardware manufacturer. The OS was a
- byproduct and it was treated as such. AT has already stated in public that they
- want to develop the AmigaOS in such a way as to make it applicable across
- PowerPC platforms. This pushes the company more into the direction of a software
- manufacturer. With this attitude, the OS development and marketing would have
- to be profitable.
